Dose Administration Aids
Sometimes taking medicines can be confusing. Dose Administration Aids (DAA’s) help organise your medicines into special, easy to use weekly packs. They ensure you take the right pills, at the right time, on the right day. Your GP and pharmacist work together to take the hassle out of managing changes, scripts and long medicine names. Our pharmacists help you monitor your use of the medicine pack and advise you if you are unsure. They also help manage your prescriptions with your GP.
We use the SureMed packing system as our choice of Dose Administration Aid. These packs are securely sealed and labelled and remove the chance of mixing up tablets. When it is time to take your medicines, simply push out the contents of the blister through the foil backing. SureMed provides a visual cue, so you always know where you are up to. It’s as easy as that!

Dose Administration Aids For DVA Clients
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) subsidises Dose Administration Aid (DAAs) to all eligible DVA card-holders. The Dose Administration Aid (DAA) Service aims to help veterans, war widows and other eligible DVA clients safely and easily manage their medicines under the care of their doctor and pharmacist at no cost.
Eligibility Criteria for the Service:
- Veterans must hold a Gold, White or Orange Repatriation Card.
- Veterans must be living in the community and not residing in a Residential Care Facility.
